Football season isn’t official until Taylor Swift makes it so, and she made her first appearance last night at the Chiefs game in Kansas City. Coming off of her European Eras Tour, Swift arrived to support Travis Kelce wearing two controversial looks: denim on denim and millennial side bangs.

On September 5, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs played their first game of the season, edging out the Baltimore Ravens by seven points, perhaps with the help of Swift’s support. For the occasion, theTortured Poets Department singer opted for a denim Versace top paired with high-rise jean shorts from Grlfrnd, lots of gold jewelry, and finished the look off with classic side bangs.

Swift has made the side bang look all her own, perfecting the swooping style over the years. Parted to the left side, her bangs rested right on top of her eyebrow and stayed put throughout the game (they were likely gelled or hair-sprayed down). The rest of her hair was curled in soft laidback waves.

For the rest of her glam, the 34-year-old kept it simple and standard. Her complexion was touched with a bit of blush and bronzer, and she stuck to her go-to’s like her black winged eyeliner and red lip combo. However, her red lipstick was slightly darker in shade, swapping her usual fire-hydrant red for a fall burgundy shade.

Throughout the 2023 football season, Swift's ensembles always felt inspired by Kelce's team number or Chiefs colors, but her first outfit and glam were much more low-key. For now, Canadian tuxedos and side bangs are jumping into the fall trend cycle with the best PR in the business—a stamp of approval from Swift.
